Reebot Robotics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Drone Rescue Division of the China International Rescue Center, successfully conducted a live water rescue drill at the Nan’an Riverside Ecological Park in Fujian Province.

The drill followed the full rescue workflow: Detect → Locate → Reassure → Deliver → Coordinate, focusing on validating the capabilities of the Reebot UniDrone E900 industrial-grade multirotor emergency drone in real water rescue scenarios. Key functions tested included rapid aerial search, voice guidance, precise payload delivery, and coordinated command, aiming to enhance rescue efficiency and air-ground collaboration in complex environments.

Live Drill: Realistic Water Rescue Scenario

The drill simulated a sudden man-overboard emergency. Operators from the China International Rescue Center deployed drones for aerial coordination while the water rescue team followed live location data transmitted by the drone. Victims were role-played to assess the effectiveness of guidance and rescue actions.

Solution: Multi-Functional Aerial Emergency Platform

The drill centered on the highly integrated UniDrone E900 emergency drone system:

Flight Platform: Reebot UniDrone E900

- Maximum payload: 2.1 kg; full-load endurance: 43 minutes

- 35 km HD video transmission

- Wind resistance: 11.5 m/s; IPX4 protection rating, suitable for complex water environments

Mission Payloads:

1. UniPod MT11 Mini Quad-Sensor AI Pod — 165× hybrid optical zoom, 8× HD infrared zoom, laser rangefinder measurement range 5–1200 m

2. Loudspeaker — effective broadcast range: 500 m

3. Drone Dropping Device — for emergency delivery of lifebuoy and flotation devices

Live Drill Workflow: Efficient Air-Ground Coordination

1. Rapid Deployment (2 min)

The UniDrone E900 was deployed and airborne within approximately 2 minutes, demonstrating exceptional emergency response speed.

2. Wide-area aerial search

The drone’s UniPod MT11 optical pod uses an HD wide-angle lens for broad-area scanning and supports 8K still-image capture and 4K video recording, allowing high-quality evidence capture during the search. With the 1,600-nit high-brightness handheld ground station display, the operator can clearly monitor the live video feed in complex lighting conditions, maintaining a clear view of the scene and significantly improving decision-making efficiency.

3. Precise Identification and Position Confirmation:

Once a potential target is detected during the wide-area search, the UniPod MT11 optical pod can smoothly transition from the wide-angle view into the zoom mode. Its 11× optical zoom enables rapid mid-range close-up inspection, while the 165× maximum hybrid zoom captures fine details at long distances—ensuring reliable identification even under challenging water-surface conditions such as glare, ripples, and low-light areas.

At the same time, the optical pod’s laser rangefinder can be activated to transmit real-time distance and coordinate data, providing the command team with precise positioning information and enabling the rescue unit to plan the optimal approach route quickly.

4. Aerial Broadcasting

The drone hovers above the person in the water and uses its loudspeaker to deliver clear instructions such as: “Rescue is on the way. Prepare for the lifebuoy drop.”

This helps stabilize the victim emotionally and provides real-time guidance for the next rescue steps.

5. Precision Drop and Supply Delivery:

Once the victim’s condition and location are confirmed, the operator uses the drone’s stable flight control and live video feed to perform a precise drop. The lifebuoy is delivered accurately to the immediate vicinity of the victim, providing essential early assistance.

6. Real-Time Guidance and Coordinated Rescue:

The drone continues to transmit live video and positioning data. Guided by this information, the water rescue team quickly approaches and retrieves the victim, completing an efficient and seamless rescue chain.

Operational Results: Data Validates the Effectiveness of the Aerial Rescue System

The drill delivered remarkable outcomes, with key performance metrics demonstrating strong capabilities:

- Deployment Speed: The UniDrone E900 required only about two minutes from setup to takeoff, showcasing exceptional emergency response readiness.

Search Efficiency: From launch to locating and confirming the victim’s position, the entire process took under ten minutes—significantly faster than traditional search methods.

Drop Accuracy: The lifebuoy was delivered with a successful first attempt, highlighting the system’s outstanding stability and precision.

Faster Decision-Making: Real-time HD video and accurate coordinates transmitted by the drone greatly reduced decision-making time for both the command center and the rescue team on the ground.

Joint Evaluation: A Strong Endorsement of Both Technology and Real-World Performance

Following the exercise, the China International Rescue Center’s UAV Rescue Division gave high recognition to the results:

“This drill was not just a technical demonstration—it was a true capability validation aligned with real operational needs. The Reebot UniDrone E900 emergency drone solution, integrating search, voice broadcast, and payload delivery into a single industry-grade platform, proved its ability to achieve rapid positioning and early-stage rescue support even in open-water environments and challenging lighting conditions. It not only improves the efficiency and success rate of individual rescue missions, but more importantly, provides solid technical support and new tactical perspectives for building a modern, intelligent ‘air–ground integrated’ emergency response system. We look forward to incorporating this mature solution more deeply into daily training and real-world operations.”

This field exercise once again validated the UniDrone E900’s critical value in water-rescue missions. Moving forward, Reebot will continue advancing UAV solutions for emergency response and delivering more reliable aerial support.
